Flying S is a family farm in East
Central Illinois devoted to taking care of the land and animals. Management
Intensive Grazing practices are used to produce naturally healthy grass fed
beef.
Beef is generally sold by the half
($3.50/lb hanging) or quarter ($3.75/lb hanging), however a quarter can be split
again to create an eighth ($4.25/lb hanging) for customers with small freezers.
Flying S beef is dry-aged for 14-21
days. With advance notice we can cut your steaks any thickness you like.

in the western suburbs of Chicago. We have food pick-ups at 1620 Stoddard Avenue

dates. We offer grass fed dairy (sheep's milk and yogurt, goat milk, cow

pride ourselves in raising premium All-Natural
Angus and Hereford
cattle using All-Natural

Those
of you who are wondering what you will do for fresh produce once the regular
season is over—here is your answer.
Seven
weeks of wonderful fall produce such as winter squash, pie pumpkins, carrots,
radishes, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, cauliflower, cabbage, kale, spinach, Swiss
chard, lettuce, parsnips, tatsoi, leeks, rutabaga, beets, spicy mix, and various
Asian greens. Share sizes will be comparable to what you were receiving in June.
Also, new in the fall season will be fresh eggs. Twice during the season you
will receive a dozen farm fresh eggs from Grandma’s Eggs in Sugar Grove. If
you’ve never had farm fresh eggs, you are in for a treat—wonderful fluffy
texture with dark yellow or orange yolks and shells in shades of brown, white,
and even green.

medium share is designed for two people and a large is designed for four people.
Early and late produce is grown in hoophouses as season extension crops. Our
boxes contain primarily vegetables, with fruits added. Each week I strive to
produce a nice variety of crops in ample quantities. Included in CSA membership
is a weekly newsletter and two farm parties a year so members will be able to

Broad Branch Farm is located in
north central Illinois about 20 miles north of Peoria and is owned and operated
by Anita & Brian Poeppel. The farm relocated from Woodstock, IL to Wyoming,
IL in the winter of 2004. Although not Certified Organic, we are a chemical free
sustainable farm. The farm specializes in vegetables especially salad greens,
pastured meat chickens, free-range eggs, grass-fed beef and pork. Products are
marketed at the Naperville Farmer's market every Saturday, June-October. A
Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program was added in 2003. Shares for a
weekly box of vegetables are available for 2008 until sold out. Chickens are
raised on chemical free pasture and certified organic grain.
Starting in 2009 Broad Branch Farm
will be delivering every Friday at The Daily Method inside the 5th Avenue
Station in Naperville.
